A textile fabric is made from synthetic cables (2) sheathed in a polymer material and incorporates in both warp and weft metal cables (3, 4) sheathed in a polymer of a different color to that of the synthetic cables. The polymer-sheathed metal cables, which are made from steel- or carbon-based strands, are spaced at regular intervals of under 80 mm. The warp or weft of the fabric also contains electrically conducting cables (6 - 9) sheathed in a polymer of a different color to that of the synthetic cables, spaced at intervals of under 50 mm and connected in series at the edges of the fabric.
