The frontal brake light for a motor vehicle (1) is directed to shine forwardly of the vehicle direction of travel. Several brake lights (3,4) are mounted in different positions around the vehicle. The brake lights (7) can be mounted on the back of a rear view mirror. The brake lights can be mounted in the passenger compartment to shine through the windscreen.
