The vibration values are fed to a processing unit, where they are compared to a characteristic nominal or threshold value produced by an adequate profile depth. A signal is produced if the measured value falls below an acceptable level. The profile geometry is such that the positive amount of the profile is dependent upon the depth, and profile separation changes suddenly as the depth reduces.",
