A drive control (8) for a drive motor system (25) in a trailer coupling (10) has a pulling component (17) to couple up a trailer (13) to a pulling vehicle. Control devices (11) control the drive motor system so that it moves the pulling component into a preset position (18,19) and compensate for unforeseen adjustment in the pulling component.
