Method and device for controlling the lighting distance of vehicle headlamps

The beam width regulation method detects the inclination of the automobile chassis relative to the road surface for corresponding adjustment of the automobile headlamp (2) for regulating the beam width (LW). A variation in the height of the headlamp relative to the road surface caused by inclination of the automobile chassis is detected, with the height variation used for controlling the headlamp adjustment. An Independent claim for a device for regulation of the beam width for an automobile headlamp is also included.
