"textContent": "The method of the protection of an internal combustion engine against excess pressure involves the measurement of the pressure in at least one cylinder (1), with modification of fuel input and/or combustion when the peak pressure in the cylinder interior exceeds a predetermined threshold value. The fed-in fuel amount, ignition timing and fuel injection timing are modified. A peak pressure regulator (C, C', C, C') on the input side is connected with at least one pressure sensor (3) in at least one engine cylinder and on the output side with a control device (2) for fuel input feed or fuel combustion. The regulator functions so that fuel input and/or combustion are so modified that the peak pressure remains below a maximum value.",
