April 24, 2002
The invention provides a sealed secondary electrochemical generator of the Ni-MH type, with aqueous alkaline electrolyte, comprising an electrode bundle placed in an enclosure and composed of a plurality of negative electrodes and positive electrodes, the space separating the negative electrode from the positive electrode comprising a separator, in which a recombination device is placed between two adjacent negative electrodes, characterized in that the separator is gas-permeable and in that the recombination device has a contact angle of at least 45°, an average pore cross-section of at least 10³µm², and a thickness between 0.2 and 5 mm.
