Sealing ring for injector
DRIVE
April 3, 2002
Sealing ring (1) for fuel injectors (2) of internal combustion engines comprises a one- or multi-piece sealing body. The fuel injectors are screwed into a cylinder head (3) and the sealing ring is arranged between a fuel injector and the cylinder head. The sealing ring contains a filling composition (6) which is released on assembly of the fuel injector in the cylinder head through the application force acting on the sealing body between a sealing flange (4) of the fuel injector and a sealing surface (5) of the cylinder head and flows into the gap (7) in the connecting region between the fuel injector and the cylinder head. Preferred Features: The sealing body has a hollow cross-section partially or completely filled with the filling composition, and one or more openings are arranged in the periphery of the sealing body through which the filling composition flows on assembly.
