Installation for detection of breakage of an overhead contact wire for electric traction vehicles

Rupture on continuous current overhead conductors (FC1p1, FC1n1) is detected by installing an audio frequency generator (EMv1f1) at the sending end and two corresponding receivers (REv1p1, REv1n1) at the receiving end. The generator and receivers are connected to the overhead conductors using dividing bridges (PDe, PDr) and to each other by a pseudo neutral (N). A ruptured conductor is disconnected by switches (IS) at high speed.
