The memory includes a user specific data set for automatic setting of user preferences for vehicle components, such as seating, rear-view mirror, information displays, etc., which are communicated to the vehicle so that they are automatically set. The invention also relates to a method for testing the authentication for remote access to a vehicle. The method uses a mobile phone (1) with an information support as above housed in a read socket within the phone. The authentication process involves transmission of challenge code word to the phone from the vehicle and calculation of a corresponding identification code by the phone that is then transmitted back. If the identification code corresponds to the vehicle identification, access is granted.",
