Heterogeneous catalysis in internal combustion engines

The present invention relates to an internal combustion engine comprising a combustion chamber characterized in that catalytically active materials having suitable thermal stability and catalytic activity are localised on internal wall surfaces into the combustion chamber and in that the catalytic activity is performed during the combustion reaction for the enhancement of combustion reactions and reduction of pollutants emissions.
