Device for automatically straightening a wheel

The invention relates to a device for automatically straightening spoked wheels with a straightening machine. The settings of the straightening machine are dependent upon the type of wheel, and the device is provided with recognition means for automatically recognizing the type of wheel. The recognition means comprise, inter alia, sensors for detecting characteristics of the wheel, a memory for recording characteristics for each type of wheel to be detected with the sensors, and means for comparing detected characteristics with characteristics stored in the memory. The recognition means can also be in the form of a sensor for detecting a code placed on the wheel.
