Turbomachine and turbine blade
DRIVE
March 13, 2002
The turbo-machine operates as a compressor or a turbine with a working fluid (A) consisting of gas turbine exhaust gases or steam. The compressor or turbine blades or the flow channel wall have a hydrophobic micro-roughened surface structure (47) that resists wetting by droplets of water (49) or the working fluid. Each turbine blade has a crystalline layer (45) with a surface (39) which can be subjected to the action of a working fluid. Drops of water may roll along the surface and collect particles of dirt (51A-C) sticking to the surface.
