Shock absorbing hitch

DRIVE March 6, 2002
Source
An apparatus (14a), interposed between and attached to a drive vehicle (10) and an object (12) to be moved, dampens the forces (drive, resistance, inertia, etc.) between them. The apparatus has a rigid structure which is capable of transferring the large forces required to pull the object, from the drive vehicle to the object, but incorporates damping means (22,24,26) adapted to moderate the impact of the forces on the drive vehicle/object combination.
