New fluoroalkyl-fluoro-phosphates (I), with a mono- to tri-valent cation (except lithium, sodium, cesium, potassium and silver), especially a (substituted) ammonium, phosphonium, aminophosphonium, triaminocarbonium, triarylcarbonium, rubidium or tropylium cation, are new. New fluoroalkyl-fluoro-phosphates of formula (I), with a mono- to tri-valent cation (except lithium, sodium, cesium, potassium and silver), especially a (substituted) ammonium, phosphonium, aminophosphonium, triaminocarbonium, triarylcarbonium, rubidium or tropylium cation, are new: Mn+(PFx(CyF2y+1-zHz)6-x)n (I) x = 1-6; y = 1-8; z = 0 to 2y+1; n = 1-5; Mn = a mono- to tri-valent cation, especially NRRRR, PRRRR, P(NRR)kRmR4-k-m, C(NRR)(NRR)(NRR), C(Aryl)3, rubidium (Rb) or tropylium cation, with the exception of lithium, sodium, cesium, potassium and silver; k = 1-4; m = 0-3; k+m = 1-4; R = hydrogen (H) or 1-8 carbon (C) alkyl or aryl, optionally partly substituted by fluorine (F), chlorine (Cl) or bromine (Br). Independent claims are also included for: (a) the preparation of (I); (b) electrolytes for primary batteries, secondary batteries, capacitors, supercapacitors and galvanic cells, which contain compound(s) (I).
