The positive electrode comprises a high tap density irregular shaped nickel hudroxide as active material and having hammered irregularities in its crystalline structure which is doped with Co and Zn in a range of 0.5 and 5 % in both cases, a three-dimensional metallic structure as conductive substrate of the foam or nickel fiber, and which has a porosity of 90 to 96%, preferably between 94 and 96%, as well as additives to improve the rhoelogical characteristics and electric conductivity of the electrode in a range of 7 to 40%.",
