Electro-mechanical brake system for multi-axle vehicle in particular passenger car
DRIVE
January 23, 2002
The electromechanical braking installation is for a multi-axle, especially two-axle, vehicle, especially a car. It has an electromechanical actuator provided at each vehicle wheel that presses a brake pad against a rotating element upon a desired brake activation. Upon a desired brake activation, not all the actuators are activated uniformly and not all actuators are activated at the same time. The actuators assigned to the rear axle of the vehicle are activated after the ones for the front axle. The actuators to be activated with a delay are controlled when an electrical peak loading value at all of the actuators activated first is exceeded.
