The connecting rod comprises welded steel plates (9,12) with cut sections, and a strengthening plate (16) for improved curved strength. A U-shaped molded shell (9) at one free end (10) of the leg (11) has a transverse plate (12) or U-shaped counted plate. The strengthening plate lies in an inner area between the legs and the base of the shell.
