A safety apparatus for a vehicle which is provided near an air-conditioning system installed in the vehicle, has a function of discharging leaked carbon dioxide to the outside if a carbon dioxide leak is detected. If a carbon dioxide leak is detected by a means for carbon dioxide leak detection, a means for air blowing provided inside a duct communicating between the bottom portion within the cabin and the outside of the cabin is engaged by a means for drive, to discharge carbon dioxide accumulating near the bottom inside the cabin to the outside of the cabin.
