Improving the start-up in the cold start of a catalytic unit (2) in gas producers in a mobile fuel cell system involves accumulating (i.e. trapping) start-hindering gas components in an intermediate storage unit (1) in the gas feed system and then allowing the heated gases from storage unit (1) to re-enter the operation.
