Air bag module

The invention relates to an airbag module for a vehicle occupant restraint system, in particular a side airbag module extending along the roof frame. The airbag module comprises an airbag (14) and a housing with two separate side parts (16, 18) which define a discharge channel for the airbag (14). A frame-proximal side part (16) and an interior-proximal side part (18) are provided, each having edge sections (22, 24, 28, 30) at their upper and lower ends. The airbag module is characterized in that the interior-proximal side part (18) is designed to be elastic and has a shape matched to the shape of the frame-proximal side part (16) such that the interior-proximal side part (18) rests only on the exterior of the frame-proximal side part (16) in order to grip it clamp-like on the exterior.
