Application of Gamma-SVO and mixture of Gamma-SVO/ Epsilon-SVO in high rate electrochemical lithium cells containing SVO/CFx/SVO sandwich cathodes

Lithium electrochemical cells having a sandwich cathode electrode of SVO/CFx/SVO active materials are described. Such a design improves the service life of defibrillator electrochemical cells. A preferred formulation uses gamma -SVO/CFx/ gamma -SVO or ( gamma + epsilon )-SVO/CFx/( gamma + epsilon )-SVO sandwiched cathode electrodes.
