DYNAMIC IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD AND DEVICE AND MEDIUM
DRIVE
October 4, 2001
A dynamic image processing method and device for authenticating the user who uses a specific device by using motion information on the object. A monochromatic density time-series image captured by imaging an object by means of a camera is inputted. The object is detected from the initial frame of the inputted time-series image by using the basic shape feature, and reference points to be traced are automatically defined on the object. The points corresponding to the reference points are sought from an image frame of the inputted time-series image different from the initial frame. The motion information on the fingers and hands is calculated from the results of the trace of the reference points and the assumption of finite motion of a three-dimensional plane. Coordinate conversion of the three-dimensional object is carried out by using the calculated motion parameters and displayed as necessary. The reference points in each frame are updated on the basis of the results of the trace, and trace, calculation of motion parameters, and display for continuous frames are repeated.
