A method for detecting the occurence of a declutch

A method in accordance with the invention concerns the detection of the occurrence of a declutch of an internal combustion engine coupled to a clutch and having a throttle valve for controlling intake air flow. The method comprises the steps of: monitoring the engine speed after a transition from open to closed throttle; and concluding to the occurrence of a declutch if said engine speed increases.
