Modular dashboard for a motor vehicle

The panel (1) has an upper part module (2), which extends over the width of the vehicle interior under the windscreen. A driver's side module (5), a passenger's side module and a middle bracket module (7) are fixed under the upper part module. A variable module (11) is fixed between the middle bracket module and the passenger's side module. The variable module can act in a special variation as a functional element, to provide an additional function, or in a basic variation as a cladding element (11a) without any additional function. The outer side of the variable module forms a continuous surface between the outer sides of the middle bracket module and the passenger's side module. The variable module could be a telephone, a hands-free telephone unit or a cup holder.
