If during running at the \"second speed\", a vehicle speed V reaches to the gear-shift vehicle speed Vch23 and thereby a timing of shift-down to the \"third speed\" comes, a gear-shift actuator is driven for gear-shift, and a drive current to be supplied to the drive motor is reduced to lower the output torque at the \"third speed\" to the output torque at the \"second speed\", whereby both the output torques at the \"third speed\" and the \"second speed\" are made to substantially correspond to each other.
