Cylinder injection engine and control apparatus thereof

The invention relates to a cylinder injection engine including a fuel injector (6) for injecting a fuel into a combustion chamber formed between a cylinder head and a piston (40), an intake port opening to the combustion chamber, an intake valve (41) disposed in the intake port, a plurality of spark plugs (38a, 38b) provided for each cylinder for effecting ignition of a mixture formed within the combustion chamber, an external EGR valve (28) having a function of EGR amount control to the cylinder, and a gas flow control valve (7). The engine has air/fuel ratio mode setting and ignition mode setting.
