The device for protecting car cables and cooling hoses against gnawing by martens comprises two mounting rings (11) on to which a sleeve is fitted, so that a cavity is formed between the sleeve and cable or hose. The mounting consists of an outer ring (17) linked to an inner clamping ring (13) by connecting strips (15).
