The invention relates to a shock absorbing member used in an automobile interior member, especially an automobile door trim or the like because it is excellent in appearance, weight reduction, rigidity and shock absorbing property, has a simple structure and is excellent in economics. It is a shock absorbing member which is an integrally molded product comprising a plate portion and lattice-form ribs on a reverse surface of the plate portion and made of a fiber-containing thermoplastic resin, a porosity of the plate portion being 5 to 90 %. Specifically, it is formed of a polypropylene resin having a glass fiber content of 10 to 60 % by weight and a weight average fiber length of 1 to 20 mm.
