Method for controlling the air-fuel ratio of internal combustion engine
DRIVE
August 8, 2001
The method involves detecting exhaust gas sensor signals upstream and downstream of the catalyser in an engine controller, which sets the air-fuel ratio to a predetermined value based on the upstream sensor signal in closed-loop mode. If the ratio deviates from a stoichiometric ratio the signal of the downstream sensor is used to regulate the set ratio to the stoichiometric ratio.
