The present invention relates to tires adapted to carry heavy loads, and to a use of a rubber composition to delay the appearance of uneven wear on the tread bands of such tires during rolling. The invention applies to tires for motor vehicles, such as heavy-duty vehicles, civil engineering vehicles or aircraft. This tread composition comprises: an elastomeric matrix comprising as the majority component at least one diene elastomer, which comprises at at least one of its chain ends a functional group active for coupling to a reinforcing white filler, a reinforcing filler comprising as the majority component a reinforcing white filler, and a coupling agent for reinforcing white filler/functionalized diene elastomer.
