The method involves arranging and/or driving the liquid dispensing arrangement associated with the wiper arm (1) to apply the cleaning liquid (3) on a definite side of the wiper blade by waiting for actuation of an active cleaning switch and applying (2) a defined first quantity of cleaning liquid after starting the actuation of the active cleaning switch only if the wiper arm is moving towards the defined side.
