The invention relates to a device for detecting rollovers in a vehicle with at least one rollover sensor for detecting an impending or occurring vehicle rollover and for outputting a corresponding signal. To verify the rollover signal, it is proposed to additionally provide at least one wheel speed sensor, which outputs a signal corresponding to the respective wheel speed to a control device, wherein the control device is connected directly or indirectly to the at least one rollover sensor, and the control device is designed such that a trigger signal for a safety system can be generated on the basis of the rollover signal and taking into account the at least one wheel speed signal.
