The tailgate has platform profile (12) forming a surface and connection elements (40) at the vehicle side of the platform edge for connection to the vehicle or a corresponding hinge partner. The connection element is shaped so that it can be fixed to a lug-like section (38) with an opening to hold a joint shaft (44) of a hinge partner and to a strip-shaped insertion element (46), which can be positively fitted to the other hinge partner.
