A processor (1) gives individual objects extra functions that a user can call up and loads the objects from memory (9), removable data carriers or external data sources. A navigational device has a communications device (6) to call up external data sources and allows a user to simulate a route to a preset destination. The processor calculates directional movement by using the navigational device's locations and speed. The objects used for display are in MPEG4 code.
