Installation and procedure for overload protection of power converters
DRIVE
June 27, 2001
The overload protection device has an instantaneous current limiter (1) with a controller (5) that responds to a current threshold being exceeded by blocking a branch pair (4) and responds to the current falling below the threshold by re-enabling the branch pair. If the threshold is exceeded more than a given number of times on a defined period the controller enables a current converter blocking device (SVS). Independent claims are also included for the following: a method of protecting a current converter against overload.
