Non-sintered nickel electrode for secondary battery with alkali electrolyte

Non-sintered nickel electrode comprises current collector and paste consisting of powdered nickel hydroxide-based active material, conductive material containing lithium and cobalt, and binder. Active material comprises particles of a hydroxide based on nickel and partly oxidized to beta -structure oxy-hydroxide. The particles are at least partly coated with a lithiated oxide of nickel and cobalt. The conductivity of the conductive material is above 1 x 10 Siemens. cm after one chare/discharge cycle. Independent claims are given for: (a) a secondary electrochemical generator incorporating the above electrode used as a positive electrode; and (b) a process for production of the electrode.
