Load limiter for belt retractor

The deflection elements (20,22) are arranged in the manner of achicane so that the metal strip (18) is deformed. At least one of the deflection elements is supported at a support structure fixed to the frame (10) and arranged movable at right angles to the direction of the supporting force at the frame. It is also provided with a stepped contact surface for a corresp. steeped stop surface of the support structure. The engagement of the support structure in a step of the contact surface also allows a movement of the deflection element in the direction of the supporting force.
