Theoretical temperature value corresponding to detected air temperature, is defined for at least one value of an electrical control signal controlling a variable throughput compressor. The actual and theoretical temperatures are compared, based on which normal or abnormal state of closed loop air conditioning system, is indicated. The comparison result is used as indicator of low level of refrigerant in the system. The low level of refrigerant is indicated, when actual air flow temperature exceeds a predetermined threshold, with respect to theoretical temperature. The comparison result is used as an indicator of the blockage of the valve of the compressor.",
