The device has a portable transmitter for wirelessly sending coded information to a receiver for comparison with defined coded information. The receiver outputs a drive signal to the security device if the information agrees. After mechanical activation of the security device the receiver is blocked from receiving, evaluating and/or outputting the drive signal until blocking is removed by mechanical deactivation of the security device. The device has a portable transmitter unit for wirelessly sending coded information that is received by a receiver and compared with predetermined coded information. The receiver outputs a drive signal to the security device if the information agrees and is connected to a mechanical device for operation by a key. After mechanical activation of the security device the receiver is blocked from receiving and/or evaluating the transmitted coded information and/or from outputting the drive signal, whereby the blocking can be removed after mechanical deactivation of the security device.
