Loading tailgate system

The tailgate system includes a lifting mechanism(12) with at least one support arm(13), and with a compression spring(28) or hydraulic or pneumatic spring acting between the second end of the support arm and a rotational pivot(137) of the tailgate extending orthogonally to the support arm. The spring is encased by a protective element which may be an elastic bellows component. The support arm is formed by two parallel spaced apart elements(134,135).
