The arrangement has at least one fuel cell (1) with medium feed paths for the anode (2) and cathode (3) and waste gas flow paths from the anode and cathode. The cathode feed path contains an air compressor (5) and the anode feed path contains a reforming unit (9) with a reformer (11) and a heating chamber (17). The cathode waste gas path contains a catalytic burner (8). The heating chamber is thermally coupled to the reformer. The heating chamber of the reforming unit and/or a heating chamber of an evaporator unit is arranged in the cathode waste gas flow path and an expansion machine (7) is arranged in the cathode gas flow path between the catalytic burner and the heating chamber.
