Exterior mirror for motor vehicle

The mirror has a housing (2) with a pivot bearing with upper and lower shaft holders (26,28), and a distance piece (60), which is fitted into one of the holders. The distance piece occupies a first position, in which it is moveable in direction of a long screw (68) extending through the holders and a mirror holder. In a second position, the distance piece projects into the mirror holder and is locked by turning.
