Cylinder head for an internal combustion engine
DRIVE
May 30, 2001
This cylinder head comprises intake and exhaust valves for controlling gas exchange in a combustion chamber of the cylinder head, which intake and exhaust valves are actuated by means of at least one camshaft. In order to create a cylinder head system encompassing the intake valves and the exhaust valves that is suitable for different internal combustion engines with intake manifold injection or direct injection, said cylinder head system has design features that are suitable both for a first cylinder head variant with intake manifold injection as well as for a second cylinder head variant with direct injection. In this regard, the second cylinder head variant is provided with one or more injection nozzles inserted from a longitudinal side of said cylinder head variant, which run at an acute angle to a plane extending between the second cylinder head variant and a cylinder block.
