May 23, 2001
There is disclosed an air bag cover for vehicles which is produced by a single-layer injection molding method, and exhibits excellent rigidity and heat-deformation resistance and has a high safety since it can be opened without breakage and flying-out into pieces, upon inflation of the air bag. The air bag cover of the present invention is produced by molding a thermoplastic elastomer composition comprising: (A) 55 to 80% by weight of an olefin-based resin; and (B) 20 to 45% by weight of a copolymer rubber of ethylene and an alpha -olefin having not less than 6 carbon atoms with the proviso that the total content of said olefin-based resin (A) and said copolymer rubber (B) is 100% by weight, said composition having a melt flow rate of not less than 5 g/10 minutes and a flexural modulus of from not less than 550 MPa and less than 800 MPa.
