Vehicle roof, especially of an automotive vehicle

The automobile roof construction has a sandwich structure provided by a rigid roof skin (2) and a foamed plastics inner skin (1), divided into 2 layers at its outer edge which is fitted to the automobile body frame (3), the upper layer (4) secured to the latter and the lower layer (5) used for covering the body frame on the inside. The part of the inner skin which is not divided into 2 layers has recesses (11) for reception of removable function elements (12).
