Parking brake device for vehicle with automatic gear-box and vehicle with such device

The parking brake for an automatic transmission motor vehicle (5) has a cut out to prevent its operation when the vehicle is moving. The brake has a parking brake gear (1) with a finger (7) rotatably mounted between blocking and release positions. Springs (13) move the finger to the release position. Stop cams (25,31,33) prevent the finger engaging when the vehicle is moving.
