In 'The forgotten phone', we previously reviewed the Samsung U600 in detail. The device was part of the stylish U-line. This device appeared in 2007, and in the same year the Samsung SGH-U700 was also presented with a thickness of only 12.1 millimetres at the time. According to the manufacturer, the device was inspired by sparkling jewellery.

Besides a beautiful design, the device was also well-equipped for the time. It had support for HSDPA and the 2G network. On board the Samsung U700 was a 2.2-inch display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The phone could be operated with the circular navigation key below the screen and the touch-sensitive keys below the screen. The navigation key could also be rotated around for easy scrolling. The device featured Samsung's own TouchWiz interface.

The Samsung U700 was a so-called slider-phone, so the keyboard popped up by sliding the top upwards. It also featured a 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash and a VGA front camera. The device had around 20MB of storage space which could be expanded with a microSD card. The battery had a capacity of 690 mAh.
