"textContent": "Bear Country to have world premiere at Italian film festival where Crowe will receive award.\nThe Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe is set to attend the 72nd Taormina Film Festival in Sicily for the world premiere of his latest film, Bear Country (released in Italy under the title La vendetta perfetta).\n\nDirected by Derrick Borte - who previously collaborated with Crowe on the 2020 film Unhinged - Bear Country features Crowe as Manco Kapak, a veteran nightclub owner whose plans for a quiet retirement are violently upended.\n\nThe action-thriller , adapted from Thomas Perry’s novel Strip, also stars Luke Evans, Teresa Palmer, Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), and Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries), most of whom are expected to attend the festival.\n\nPremiere\nScheduled as a special open-air event on 13 June, the premiere will be held at Taormina's iconic Teatro Antico, an ancient Greek amphitheatre overlooking Mount Etna.\n\nCrowe will also be honoured with the festival's International Achievement Award.\n\nFollowing its debut at Taormina, Bear Country will be screened in summer arenas in mid-August before its nationwide Italian release by Minerva Pictures on 26 August.\n\nTaormina\nHelmed by artistic director Tiziana Rocca, this year's Taormina Film Festival runs from 10 to 14 June and features a revived international competition format.\n\nThe event boasts a heavily global profile, bolstered by a high-calibre jury led by president Jane Campion and featuring prominent figures such as Holly Hunter and Sue Kroll.\n\nThe festival will also honour Dame Helen Mirren with a Lifetime Achievement Award during a special gala evening celebrating the 75th anniversary of Luchino Visconti's neorealist classic Bellissima and the legacy of its legendary star, Anna Magnani.\n\nPhoto credit: Featureflash Photo Agency / Shutterstock.com",
