When to visit Gardens of Ninfa in 2026. Ninfa - described by The New York Times as "the most beautiful and romantic garden in the world" - will reopen to visitors from 21 March 2026, with online bookings now available. Ninfa is located about 80 km south-east of Rome, near Sermoneta, at the foot of the Lepini mountains. Belonging to the Caetani family since the 14th century, the site was abandoned in 1382 but in the early 1920s the Caetani family began to create the garden as it is today. Ninfa: the legendary Italian garden created by a princess Spread out over eight hectares, this romantic English-style garden has over 10,000 shrubs, plants and flowering trees from all over the world. The river Ninfa forms a lake in the garden which over the years has hosted 100 species of bird. In 2026, Ninfa will be open at weekends and on public holidays from 21 March until 8 November. A novelty this year will see the garden open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, from 3 July to 30 August, with sunset tours dedicated to two thematic walks: 'The Garden of Ninfa and its Flora' and 'The Garden of Ninfa and its Ruins'. The only exception to this new summer evening schedule will be Saturday, 15 August - the holiday of Ferragosto - when the garden will also be open during the day.
